Important Customer Alert - Rapido 5% Surcharge:
As you are no doubt aware, recent months have seen unprecedented increases in material
and shipping costs around the world. Unfortunately, our industry has not been immune to these increases.
Because model trains are small, we have been able to absorb a lot of the shipping cost increases. But it
has reached a point where we can no longer afford to absorb all of these extra costs. It's not just
shipping - it's circuit boards, metal for the steel molds, metal for diecast and turned parts, and even
raw plastic. Our factories have been passing along all of these cost increases to us.
We have no choice but to apply a temporary 5% surcharge on all products, effective December 1/21.
I apologize for this. We held off as long as we could.
Important Customer Alert - Advance Reservations:
Manufacturers give a 'reservation window'
from the time of announcement to the time reservations must be finalized.
Manufacturers will only guarantee your reservations if we receive
your advance orders by their deadline.
If there is a notable interest in a certain release,
we do reserve an additional percentage for future sales.
Ordering by this deadline is the best way to avoid missing out
on popular items and limited-run models.
Important Customer Alert - Worldwide Shipping Delays:
Manufacturers are advising us of Covid related shipping delays due in part to
the imbalance in the global availability of shipping containers. Shipping costs have
also increased in some cases over 450% in the past few months and most manufacturers
are now passing these increases on to the consumer. Many manufacturers are now
warning of severe product shortages throughout the the spring.
